Draft Minutes for 9/11 Teleconference of 25 May 2011

Present on the call were: Ken Freeland (Houston 9/11 Truth, facilitating), Thomas Jefferson Adams (The Sovereign), Oskar Mosquito (Truth March), Frank Agamemnon (Jersey City We Are Change), Joe Baltar (FBI-watch from Maine), Gerhard Bedding (Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance, NH), Sheila Casey (Staff Reporter, www.RockCreekFreePress.com), Larry Gilbert (VT911.org), Senator Mike Gravel (Citizens 9/11 Commission), Robin Hordon (9.11 Truth for World Peace and Justice), James Hufferd (911grassroots), Jonathan Mark (www.FlybyNews.com), Jeff Orling (NY activist, architect), Don Stahl (St. Louis 911 Questions), Anna Yeisley (AE911Truth), and Paul Zarembka (Professor, SUNY at Buffalo, editor,  The Hidden History of 9-11).

The call was convened at 6:08 pm ET.

The Draft Minutes of previous meeting were approved as circulated, amending Robin Hordon’s affiliation at his request.

The Agenda for this teleconference was adopted as circulated, after a motion was passed to postpone discussion of Adam Ruff’s piece, “To debate or not to debate”, until the next conference call.

Ken Freeland discussed the need for a secretary to keep the roll and record minutes of teleconferences for the next six months.  After some discussion and some silence, it was agreed that this position would rotate.  Paul Zarembka volunteered for this conference.  (As noted below, Anna Yiesley subsequently volunteered for six months.)

Ken Freeland reported a message from Kevin Barrett that he would be unavailable June 10-17 for his radio talk show, and offered to have guest hosts for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1-3 pm Central Time.  Interested persons should contact Kevin Barrett.

Senator Mike Gravel not being on the call at this point, his program was briefly summarized regarding initiative ballots for 9/11 Commissions to Alaska and Oregon, followed by other states such as California, and also municipalities.

Jonathan Mark introduced the two survey items on the agenda, leading to a brief discussion of events being planned.  Anna Yeisley mentioned the Campaign for Liberty Fest in New York City.  The discussion was interrupted by the arrival of Senator Gravel onto the call.

Citizens 9/11 Commission

The first question asked of Senator Gravel regarded the timetable for his initiative for an independent 911 investigation.  Senator Gravel responded that 24 states had an initiative process but that California was hard to do because persons being placed on a Commission required a constitutional change, while Oregon and Alaska had no such requirement and required far fewer signatures.  Therefore, the latter two states were the focus efforts for the November 2012 election.  He stated that the website for the campaign is to be completed this week.

Senator Gravel explained his Citizens 9/11 Commission campaign would initiate a nationwide ballot initiatives to give voice to those requesting a new investigation of 9/11.

Senator Gravel reiterated that this ballot initiative was not a “referendum” nor fall into legal jurisdiction of a referendum, the main difference being that this “initiative” would be an initiative for, by and of the people and would function independently of the existing government. He has no hope for an official, independent investigation by the Congress, etc.

He reminded participants on the call that the demand to re-investigate 9/11 is not only a demand from American citizens, but  by people worldwide. Due to global support, as well as national, Senator Gravel is mounting an effort to raise money for funding that will launch a state by state ballot initiative.  He mentioned the possibility of a worldwide internet hookup event to raise the funds needed for the initiative,  possibly coinciding with the 9/11 tenth anniversary.

The first step is to raise money. In order to raise money, awareness must be raised. Senator Gravel indicated that he himself is the contact person for now, but this should change shortly.  Senator Gravel indicated that a bank account had been created, as had Paypal.  Senator Gravel voiced optimism in regards to ability to raise money.  Gravel is looking for a graphic designer to improve his web site.  His core team includes Ken Jenkins and Cynthia McKinney.

This Citizen 9/11 Commission will convene with a commitment to go where the facts lead, and they will have subpoena power to compel testimony under oath and full investigative and legal support staff.  The grand juries implemented by the initiative process would have members designated by the initiative itself and not be appointed by an existing court or a governor.

Joe Baltar noted that the FBI has a program to fix voting results which may defeat the concept by foiling the voting process. Senator Gravel expressed awareness of the balloting problem, but suggested that there are ways to check the legitimacy of the voting results, such as exit polling. existing court or a governor.

Expressing excitement with Senator Gravel’s initiative, Anna Yeisley volunteered to be teleconference secretary for the next six months.  Anna Yeisley requested the next call be recorded in order to accurately depict minutes and volunteered to cover any costs for that recording. Anna agreed to contact Tanya of AE911Truth to get details on how to record conference calls.  Senator Gravel accepted the invitation to participate in the next call.

A motion was passed that remaining items on the agenda be on the next tele-conference.
Additional items for the next teleconference would also include:
Citizens 9/11 Commision (continuation)
Facebook page
National “Meetup” Group

A motion was passed without dissent that the next teleconference not wait to the last Wednesday of June but would be held on Wednesday, June 15, 6 pm.  The intention is that there would also be a June 29 teleconference.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Paul Zarembka, with assistance from Anna Yeisley and Jeffrey Orling.

About flybynews

Flyby News (FN) came out of the campaign to stop or expose the high risk NASA Cassini (plutonium) Earth flyby. FN's first campaign at the turn of the millennium was to prevent the expansion of the arms race and US domination of the planet with space-based weapons. Yet the theft of democracy in the US 2000 election, the Supreme Court appointment of George W. Bush as US President, and the events of September 11, 2001, led to the termination of the 1972 Ballistic Missile Treaty, along with many other actions of crimes against humanity and civil freedom. The exploitation and cover-up of September 11, 2001 led to illegal, deceptive wars, which has accelerated climate change, and the downfall of financial and social justice. Flyby News is educational and nonviolent in focus, and has supported critical campaigns for a healthy environment, human rights, justice, peace, and nonviolence, since the launching of NASA's Cassini space probe in 1997.
